🌟 Event Recap

The June Seattle AI Tinkerers meetup exceeded expectations, drawing an incredible crowd of professionals from diverse backgrounds. We were thrilled to have participants from companies such as Google, Microsoft, GoDaddy, Lyft, and OctoML, comprising a blend of engineers, data scientists, entrepreneurs, and product specialists. True to its name, AI Tinkerers focuses on those actively engaged in building technology, and this outstanding turnout certainly embodied that spirit.

Keiji Kanazawa, a 28-year Microsoft veteran from the Azure OpenAI Service team, joined us as our featured presenter to provide a sneak peek into what Microsoft has in store for AI developers.

We also had ten talented presenters showcasing their impressive work in AI and machine learning through fast-paced lightning talks. A few of the 10 demos included Diamond Bishop’s Augmend, Kevin’s “dev intern agent,” Richard Sprague’s personalized nutrition project, and Lakshay Chauhan’s Finpilot AI.

Attendees brought a diverse range of expertise in AI, machine learning, full-stack engineering, product management, data science, and entrepreneurship. The event fostered insightful discussions on the latest trends and developments in the industry.

🙏 THANK YOU to Point 72 Ventures for sponsoring the event.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to hosting more events in the future to continue building a dynamic and engaging Seattle AI Tinkerers community.

⚡ Lightning Talks

The format for the evening is networking reception + quick demos from the community.

UPDATE: we are not accepting any more demo requests. We have a lot of very high quality demos this time, so we’ll break the presentations up into two sessions, with networking in between.

Note to presenters:

As a presenter, you will have the entire stage (screen + mic) for 5 minutes. To ensure that we remain on schedule, I will be keeping a stopwatch.

We value your time and understand the importance of engaging demonstrations. Therefore, I recommend that you focus more on demos rather than slides. To be specific, we prefer no slides at all, but if you must use one to show data or results, it is more than welcome.

Kindly note that we discourage pitches as this is an opportunity to share and learn from other hands-on practitioners in the field. We have curated this group in the spirit of AI Tinkerers to technical, hands-on builders who are here to share and to learn on a technical and practitioner level, so please focus more on the technical obstacles and creative innovations than the business value props.

We have 10 presenters, and we will be arranging them into two sets of 5 demos with networking in between. The first half of presentations will start at 6:30 PM, while the second half will begin at 8:00 PM. The doors will be open from 6 PM and close at 9 PM.
